Урочище волков

Над немым простором дремлющих лесов,
Меж болотных топей и зеркал озер,
В непролазных чащах, где лишь зверя след,
Суны быстрой воды обрывают бег.

Там где с бурлящей пеной рвется вниз
Воды поток, неудержим и чист,
Среди суровых северных лесов
Окрест лежит урочище волков.

По лесной чащобе шаг за шагом вслед
Путник одинокий не сбавляет бег.
Взгляд назад – мгновенье жизни с смертью грань,
Разум застилает ужаса вуаль.

Хриплый вой позади и близко.
Хоровод мыслей очень быстрый.
На колени, силы покидают.
Перед взором…
Меж деревьев обрыв на круче:
Сосен древних частокол могучий.
Воды бьются с пеною о камни,
Вторя песне быстрой волчьей стаи.

Вырвался наружу
От бессилья стон
И, сорвавшись с уст,
Ветер разнесет.
Унесет вдоль вольных
Быстрых вод реки
И листвой опавшей
Заметет следы.
